New year, new social. What will be the big trends in 2016? Here's what we predict:
Pinterest started with Buyable Pins, Twitter added Buy buttons and now Facebook ads click-through directly to merchant websites. This makes shopping much easier for the social consumer.
More Emphasis on Security
With cyber crimes on the rise, people are becoming wary of sharing too much personal information online. Social sites are going to have to up their identity theft and cyber stalking measures.
Live broadcasts were taken to a new level this past year with Periscope and Meerkat. Being able to experience an event in real-time from anywhere in the world is the ultimate in engagement.
With all of the major players in the social media world right now, is there room for more? The market is pretty saturated and most spaces are covered. We think that 2016 will be a year without many new social networks, but more focused on current networks continuing to evolve and grow.
