Does your Twitter timeline look different these days? Recently Twitter switched up their timeline to make sure you don't miss important tweets. Because many users follow thousands of people, the goal of the new Twitter timeline is to help you catch up on the best tweets from the people you follow.
When you open Twitter after being away for a while, the Tweets you're most likely to care about appear at the top of your timeline (still in reverse chronological order.) The rest of the tweets are displayed right underneath.
According to the Twitter blog, the social media network believes that this new feature will increase retweets and conversations, creating more live commentary.
If you're not a fan of the new timeline design, you can turn it off in your Twitter Settings. Here's how:
- Log in to your Twitter account
- Click your profile icon in the top right corner
- Choose Settings
- Under Content, uncheck "Show me the best Tweets first."
